Introduction of 'Kyu-takike-jyutaku' (samurai residence)

Presently, there are 13 places in Japan that are designated as historically important "bukemachi" (samurai residences). One of those places, the Chiran Samurai Residence is where my father’s natal home is located. This is where I spent my summer holidays during my childhood. After my grandparents passed away, it was donated to the city of Minami-kyushu. Nowadays it is widely open to the public as "kyu-takike-jyutaku" for visiting. This is the place I learned the spirits of bushido, which hasbecome the foundation of my life.
